IN CONVERSATION WITH VICTORIA PEDRETTI

Numero Netherlands Digital introduces actress Victoria Pedretti as the Cover Star of the day, captured by Kolby Knight. Victoria is best known for playing Love Quinn in Netflix’s hit serie “You”. In 2024, Victoria made her Broadway debut in the adaptation of the Henri Ibsen play “An Enemy of the People”.

What kind of roles do usually present the biggest creative challenge for you?

 I like challenges. That being said, it’s a real creative challenge when the writing is bad. 

Which project and role you’ve worked on so far has made the biggest impact on you both career wise and personally?

Through working as an actor on camera for many years I’ve picked up a lot of skills and learned about how films are made. Recently I directed a short and have ventured into writing and producing more. I never saw myself this way. There’s a personal impact in taking on more of a leadership role, which is the process that appeals to me more than I could have ever imagined. 

How does performing on stage differ from acting on screen for you? Which aspects of theater excite you more than TV and film?

Working in theater has completely revitalized my love of acting. Working with Amy’s language, with these other actors, in the round every night has forever changed me. Petra and this experience has taught me so much. The fear has turned into a thrill. I believe theater requires more discipline, focus and courage than film. You cannot do it if you do not absolutely love it. The edit will not save you. There is also less opportunity and so it is an honor to have it and you must not squander it. I also love the immediate feedback and relationship with the audience. I’m so grateful to audiences for coming to see our show. 

Besides performance and acting, what are some of your other passions in life? What do you enjoy most on your days off?

I love to saunter.

What can you share with us about your other exciting, upcoming projects that we’ll be able to see you in?

I’m cooking up a lot at the moment, stirring many pots. I don’t know what I can say, but it is all work I am deeply passionate about and excited to share.
