Funded in 2018 by Swedish-Iranian artistic directo Bahareh Ardakani and her partner, Maison ArdAzAei presented its third couture collection at Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Titled “Calabi-Yau: The Hidden Dimensions”, the 25 looks presented merged science-fiction with the physics of fabrication. Impressive folding techniques generating infinite loops transformed the collection in a geometric masterpiece. Used by the designer to reveal the ryhtms of nature, the collection is based on the curiosity of how different materials can be manipulated to create an illusion of movement.

Bahareh Ardakani’s creations resemble infinite galaxies, thanks to the deep blue, black and purple of the garments. Silk organza and satin petals envelop the skirts, sleeves and trains of cocktail dresses and fishtailed gowns, where delicate crystals adorn the edges of their folded curve.

The proportions of the silhouettes are perfectly balanced and allow movement while enhancing the architectural lines. We feel transported to a far-away planet inhabited by ethereal creatures. The stunning tailoring brings to life a futuristic high collar sported on a purple suit made of organic silk.
