Surging forward, AMÉMÉ makes a formidable debut on Chris Lake’s Black Book Records with the driving duet “Atalakou” and “Torero”. The release via Lake’s acclaimed imprint sees the afro-house innovator continue to apply his signature sound to the labels of major forces in electronic music, continuing his accumulation of high profile accolades. Listen now here!

Minimal yet poignant, “Atalakou” is deeply rooted in a tribal, club-ready percussive core, while the contrasting “Torero” boasts flourishing brass and organic elements. The thoughtfully written, soulful melodies heard on “Torero” are woven into larger than life builds that pave the way for spiritually expansive, dance-driven breakdowns.

The release directly follows recent successful installments in AMÉMÉ’s burgeoning catalogue, most recently including “NEVER” via Gorgon City’s REALM Records, “Wild Animal”, which came out on Defected’s newly minted afro-house imprint One People, and his Latin fusion heater “Ando High” in collaboration with Mexico City’s Tom & Collins.

Revitalized this year, AMÉMÉ’s One Tribe signature event series concept has continued to touch down in new destinations around the globe. Officially relaunching in London at fabric, followed by a big splash for a quarterly residency at Shelter in Amsterdam, the most recent One Tribe dates have been in Ibiza to start the season, and in Egypt at Cubix. The next event will be the second installment of One Tribe Amsterdam, returning to Shelter on June 22nd.

The continuation of One Tribe events are in addition to a packed season of AMÉMÉ appearances across the summer festival circuit at the likes of Awakenings, Tomorrowland Belgium, Sonus, and Audio Obscura Festival – as well as an enduring presence on the white isle playing at key residencies like Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream, Jamie Jones’ Paradise, Bedouin’s Saga, Rumours, and more across Ibiza over the season.

Minted in 2017 by Chris Lake, Black Book Records continues to deliver dynamic tracks destined to heat the dance floor. AMÉMÉ’s debut EP on the imprint joins other recent releases this side of the year on Blackbook from the likes of Noizu, Bontan, Cloonee, The Chemical Brothers, and Chris Lake himself – all of which have made their impact on the space as the label continues to be a flourishing force in forward thinking house music.

Specializing in Afro-leaning electronic music, AMÉMÉ’s DJ sets are eclectic, diverse and pay musical tribute to his West African heritage. In the studio he is equally dynamic and adept, seeing releases via his One Tribe label finding their way to Black Coffee. He’s seen his music signed to top labels including Armada, Crosstown Rebels, Cercle and Abracadabra. He has delivered his unique brand of “AMÉMÉ House” to every corner of the world, taking the stage at marquee festivals such as Coachella, Tomorrowland, CRSSD, Awakenings, Lightning In A Bottle, Electric Forest, all of the iconic clubs in Ibiza, and more in every major city. AMÉMÉ will be hosting his own percussion-fueled rituals on dance floors across the world for many years to come, uniting the global community and reminding us that we are all One Tribe.
